Dean Taylor aka Dejan Dolacki was born in Bjelovar, Croatia on June 13 1975. He attended Bjelovar Trade High School untill the age of 18, when he moved to London, UK, studying information technology at the City of Westminster College. During his college years in England he starts his first steps towards acting career by getting involved in theatre work with Kensington Drama Company. After joining workshop for performers at The Lab under supervision of Russ Jones, Dejan lands his first major roles in London's West End. Furthering his training in acting and drama with Chelsea Player's Kelsey Stewart, after his college graduation in 1997, he is offered role in FR Productions' The Wind In The Willows. In the following year he travels thru Ireland performing on stage in various plays, including major role at the opening of Dublin Student Drama Festival, which leads to his first media exposure with irish actress Pauline McLynn. By the end of 1999, after a brief return to his native Croatia, Dejan's theatre work takes him all over Europe. For the next 4 years he works, lives and travels thru Germany, Austria, The Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, San Marino, Slovenia, Hungary, Belgium, Tunisia, Czech Republic, Macedonia and Greece.
In 2003, after nearly a decade on stage, Dejan starts a new chapter of his acting career in Toronto, Canada. Having learned and experienced acting techniques of theatre, he turns his attention to acting for camera. Under guidance of John Hamilton and upon completion of Acting On Camera study at Eleanor Fulcher International, Dejan changes his professional name to Dean Taylor. Prior to his initial appearance on tv series Queer As Folk alongside canadian actress Diana Vasilic and tv host Lawrence Chau, Dean also performs and directs Fulcher Talent Showcase in 2004. From that point on, his work has included modeling and acting in tv series, films, commercials and infomercials, as well as stage performance on AIM Actors Showcase in Hollywood, California. In 2006 Dean participates in contemporary art project by Vancouver based artist Michael E. Oh, as well as becoming a subject of biography film in 2007. Dean Taylor currently lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. |
